Indications

Apezo 30 mg is prescribed to:

• Psoriatic Arthritis to reduce the symptoms and signs of psoriatic arthritis, which is a condition that is a combination of arthritis and Psoriasis.
• Plaque Psoriasis: For patients suffering from mild to severe plaque psoriasis that may be candidates for phototherapy or other systemic therapy.

Mechanism of Action

Apremilast blocks the enzyme PDE4, causing an increase in intracellular cyclic monophosphate (cAMP) levels. CAMP levels that are elevated decrease the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, and enhance the production of anti-inflammatory and inflammatory cytokines decreasing inflammation and altering the immune system.

Aprezo 30 mg Dosage and Administration

• Initial Titration: The recommended dose for initial use is an titration plan for the first five days gradually increasing the dosage to lessen the risk of gastrointestinal effects.
  • Day 1 10 mg daily in the morning.
  • Day 2 10 mg in the morning, and 10 mg in the evening.
  • Day 3: 10 mg in morning and 20 mg in the evening.
  • Day 4 20 mg in the morning, and 20 mg at night.
  • Day 5 20 mg in the morning, and 30 mg in the evening.
• Maintenance Dose Starting on Day 6 to Day 6 the maintenance dose is 30 mg twice a day (morning and in the evening).
